Injection molding is the process of assigning shape and size to plastic parts during the molding process. The structure of the mold may vary greatly depending on the variety and performance of plastic, the shape and structure of plastic products, and the type of injection machine, but the basic structure is consistent. Plastic products, such as chairs, disposable tableware, toys, electronic product shells, LEGO building blocks, are ubiquitous in our lives. One of the commonly used methods for mass production of plastic products is injection molding.

Injection mold processing mainly consists of three parts: pouring system, forming parts, and structural parts. The pouring system and forming parts are the parts that come into direct contact with plastic, which vary depending on the plastic and product, and require complex, variable, machining glossiness, and precision parts in the forming mold.

1. Pouring system

This is the part of the flow channel before the plastic enters the mold cavity from the nozzle during the injection molding process, including the main flow channel, cold material hole, diversion flow channel, gate, etc. Formed parts are various parts that form the shape of a product, including movable molds, fixed molds and cavities, cores, forming rods, exhaust ports, etc.

2. Mainstream channel

Injection mold processing connects the nozzle of the mold injection machine to the flow path or cavity path. The top of the main flow path is concave and connected to the nozzle. The inlet diameter of the main flow path should be slightly larger than the nozzle diameter to avoid overflow and prevent blockage caused by inconsistent connection between the two.

3. Cold material hole

A cavity is set at the end of the main flow path to collect the cold material generated between the two injections at the nozzle end to prevent blockage of the diversion path and gate. When cold materials are mixed into the mold cavity, the manufactured product is prone to internal stress. In the processing of injection molds, in order to facilitate demolding, the bottom is mostly borne by the demolding rod.

The top of the demolding rod is designed as a serpentine hook shape, or a concave groove is set up to smoothly pull out excess things in the main flow path during demolding.
